About
The Weizmann-Brazil Tumor Bank, part of the Moross Integrated Cancer Center (MICC), supports the preservation and an in-depth investigation of tumors and research tumor models in various stages of progression. The facility helps Weizmann Institute researchers select and generate appropriate pre-clinical cancer models, thereby enabling the development of new strategies for cancer treatment.
Tumor Bank services include a wide range of mouse and human cell lines, as well as cryogenic human tissue storage, forming the basis of a tumor models repository capable of accommodating thousands of medically important samples over many years. The tumor bank offers Weizmann scientists well characterized and validated models that can facilitate new therapeutic approaches as well as fundamental research for studying the basis of tumor formation.
